Items of apparatus or special equipments and baggage of prm’s



The items of apparatus or special equipments used by PRM’s are subject to special inspection on the airport security control points as foreseen in National Security Program for Civil Aviation (PNSAC).

They are transported free of charge in the passenger cabin, if there is available space and if it doesn’t affect the security of the flight, the operational efficiency and the security of aviation against acts of unlawful interference:

  • Wheelchairs;
  • Items of apparatus or special equipments used by PRM’s, such as: walking sticks, crutches, canes and others, that must be stored in the baggage compartment of the aircraft, when their dimensions or those of the aircraft as well as the security aspects make it unfeasible to stowed them in the passenger cabin.

In the case that the items of apparatus and the special equipments used by the PRM’s cannot be transported in the passenger cabin, they must be considered as priority baggage.

A baggage dispatched by PRM’s and their accompanying persons, must be labeled as to be easily identified in the baggage claim area by the managing entity personnel, the passenger and by their accompanying persons on the baggage delivery rug.
