FLIGHT CANCELLATION
Is the non-operation of a flight which was previously planned and on which at least one place was reserved.
If your flight is cancelled, the airline is obliged to:
- Re-routing you to your final destination and required to provide you assistance: meals, non-alcoholic beverages (as deemed appropriate during the waiting time) and communication. If overnight or additional stay is needed: hotel accommodation, transport between the airport and place of accommodation (hotel or other);
Or, alternatively
- Reimbursement of the cost of the ticket within seven days: full cost of the ticket for the part or parts of the trip not made, or for the part or parts of the trip already made if the flight is no longer necessary in relation to your initial planned trip. Additionally, and where appropriate, offer you a return flight to the first point of departure.
Remark - In the event of self-assistance, you must request and keep receipts for the costs of meals/accommodation/transport in order to request reimbursement from the airline.
According to articles 5, 7 and 8 of the Decree-law nº 35/2006, of 26 June, which establishes passengers rights in case of denying boarding against their will, flight delay and cancellation, and creates the respective penalties rules.
