TRANSPORTATION OF PROHIBITED ARTICLES
PROHIBITED ARTICLE – An object susceptible to be used to commit acts of unlawful interference, that has not been declared and subject to the laws and regulations in force.
IN HOLD BAGGAGE
It is of general understanding that HOLD BAGGAGE – Is a baggage destined to be transported in the cargo hold of an aircraft.
The following items cannot be displayed in Hold Baggage:
- Ammunitions and explosive cartridges;
- Detonators, fuses, grenades, mines, dynamite, gunpowder and plastic explosives;
- Fireworks and other pyrotechnic articles;
- Smoke generators;
- Propane and butane gases;
- Flammable liquids including gasoline and methanol;
- Flammable solids and reagents, including magnesium, lighters, fireworks and torches;
- Organic oxidizers and peroxides, including bleach and body repair kits;
- Toxic or infectious substances, including rodenticides or contaminated blood;
- Radioactive material, including Mercury and vehicle batteries;
- Components of automotive fuel system that have already contained fuel.
Avoid putting in the hold baggage valuables like jewelry, money, electronic material, photographic material, cell-phones and other articles that should be transported in hand baggage.
IN HAND BAGGAGE
It is of general understanding that HAND BAGGAGE – All baggage to be transported on the aircraft cabin.
These following articles are not authorized and mustn’t be transported as hand baggage:
- FIREARM AND OTHERS:
- Firearms of all types, including: pistols, revolvers, rifles and shotguns;
- Toy guns, replicas and imitation firearms capable of being mistaken for real weapons;
- Lighters in shape of firearm;
- Components parts of firearms, excluding telescopic sights;
- Compressed air and carbon dioxide guns, including pistols, pellet guns, rifles and ball bearing guns;
- Signal flare pistols and started pistols;
- Alarm pistols;
- Industrials nails and pin pistols;
- Bows, crossbows, and arrows;
- Slingshots and catapults;
- Underwater hunting guns;
- Cattle slaughtering guns;
- Stunning or electro-choc device, including pistols for cattle and electric darts;
- POINTED EDGED WEAPONS AND SHARP OBJECTS:
- Axes;
- Arrows and darts;
- Harpoons and arrows;
- Ice picks;
- Ice skates;
- Lockable or flick knives, with blades of any sizes;
- Knives, including ceremonial knives with length of blade superior to 2.36 inches (6cm), of metal or other material strong enough to be used as a weapon;
- Cutlery;
- Machetes;
- Razors or razor blades, except recharging razor blades and disposable razor blades with encapsulated blades;
- >Sabres, swords and stock sticks;
- Scalpels;
- Scissors with a blade length superior to 2.36 inches (6cm);
- Skiing and walking stick;
- Throwing rosettes (shurikens);
- Pointed edged or sharp martial arts equipment;
- Tools with the potential to be used as weapons for example, drills and drill bits, x-type knives, multipurpose knives, saw of all kinds, screwdrivers, goat’s feet, hammers, pliers, blow torches, pellet guns and nail guns;
- HURTFUL OBJECTS:
- Baseball and softball bats;
- Clubs or batons, rigid or flexible, including billy clubs, blackjacks, night sticks;
- Cricket bats;
- Golf sticks;
- Hockey sticks;
- Lacrosse sticks;
- Kayak and canoe paddles;
- Skates;
- Pool cues;
- Fishing rods;
- Martial arts equipments, including rams, batons, blackjack, nunchakus, kubatons, kubasaunts;
- Tennis racquet;
- EXPLOSIVES AND FLAMMABLE SUBSTANCES:
- Ammunitions;
- Explosive Cartridges;
- Detonators and fuses;
- Explosives and explosive devices;
- Replica or imitation of material or explosive devices;
- Mines, grenades and other military explosives;
- Grenades of all types;
- Gas or gas containers, including butane, propane, acetylene, oxygen, in great volume;
- Firework, torches of any kind and other pyrotechnic articles, including poppers and toy caps;
- Non-amorphous matches;
- Blow torch lighters or containing fuel other than liquefied gas. A lighter which contains solid absorbed fluid fuel is allowed to be carried in the cabin of the aircraft for personal use and it must be carried with the person;
- Lighters of any sort;
- Smoke generators;
- Flammable liquid fuels, including gasoline, diesel, lighter fluid alcohol, ethanol;
- Spray paint;
- Turpentine and diluents;
- Alcoholic beverages with an alcoholic strength over 70%;
- CHEMICAL AND TOXIC:
- Acids or bases, including batteries with a risk of leakage;
- Corrosive or decolorizing substances, including mercury and chlorine;
- Disabling and incapacitating chemicals, gases and spray such as: mace, pepper spray, capsicum spray, tear gas and animal repellent spray;
- Radioactive material, namely medicinal or commercial isotopes;
- Poison;
- Infectious substances and dangerous biological agents, including contaminated blood, bacteria and viruses;
- Substances which are susceptible of spontaneous ignition or combustion;
- Fire extinguishers.
